Jacob West
trumpet
Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, trumpeter Jacob West loves the collaboration and sense of community that chamber music offers. He received his BM and MM in trumpet performance from St. Olaf College and CU Boulder respectively, and more recently, an MBA in arts leadership and innovation from the Global Leaders Institute.
Jacob is an avid performer and advocate for music education and arts administration. He has worked as a full time teaching artist, as a private lessons teacher, and has served on the board of directors with the Greater Boulder Youth Orchestras. He is also proud to be a first place winner in the 2022 National Trumpet Competition’s large ensemble division. Along with his passion for chamber music, Jacob also loves early music and has a special appreciation for Baroque and Classical repertoire.
In addition to his work as a freelance musician, Jacob currently works as the Development Coordinator at the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies. When he’s not playing trumpet or working, he loves rock climbing, creating and solving crosswords, and cooking.
